Regardless of which trim Norwalk drivers choose, the 2022 Ford Maverick comes standard with a 2.5L Hybrid engine and FWD. You’ll be able to add AWD if you opt for the engine upgrade—2.0L EcoBoost engine—which will cost you an additional $1,085.

2022 Ford Maverick Engine Specs & Towing Capacity

The 2022 Ford Maverick for sale will offer you two engine options: the standard 2.5L Hybrid engine and an available 2.5L EcoBoost engine, which comes with AWD capability. Let’s take a look at the expected engine specs for each option below:

2.5L Hybrid Engine

• With this engine, the Ford Maverick will become the first standard all-hybrid pickup in the U.S. Expect 191 hp, 1,500 lbs of payload capacity, and 2,000 lbs of towing capacity.

2.0L EcoBoost Engine

• Upgrade to the 2.0L EcoBoost for a gas combustion option. It produces 250 hp, has 4,000 lbs towing capacity, and 1,500 lbs payload capacity. For the full 4,000 lbs of towing capacity, you’ll need to pay an additional $3,305 for AWD, $745 for the Maverick tow package, and $1,085 for the engine upgrade.
