Ford Key Fob Programming: Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Start by closing the car doors, then opening the driver-side door. Press the driver-side door’s UNLOCK button.
2. Switch the ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times, within a span of 10 seconds. Ensure that it ends on RUN the 8th time. The doors will lock and unlock when you’ve entered programming mode. (Note: Turn the key faster if the door locks don’t cycle. If you still can’t get the door locks to cycle, your car may not have keyless entry.) 
3. Press any button on the Ford remote within 8 seconds to program it. You’ll know that keyless entry mode is programmed and ready to use if the door locks cycle again.
4. If you have another remote key fob, press any button on the remote within 8 seconds to cycle the door locks. You can repeat this step for any additional key fobs you have.
5. Lastly, switch the ignition to OFF. The programming is officially complete when your locks cycle again. 

How to Turn Off Ford MyKey

There are many reasons why you may want to turn off Ford MyKey, whether you have a new teen driver or you’re selling your vehicle in Des Moines. You’ll need to start your vehicle with your main admin key or admin key fob in order to turn off Ford MyKey. Then, follow these steps: 

• Start your vehicle and make sure your computer and screen are turned on.
• Press the left arrow button on your steering wheel-mounted controls to access the main menu.
• Once you’re at the main menu, select “Settings” after pressing “OK.”
• Scroll until you find the “MyKey” option on the “Settings” screen and hit “OK.”
• Press the option “Clear MyKey,” which can be found under “MyKey”.
• Press and hold “OK” until your screen displays the “All MyKeys Cleared” message.
